Liverpool striker Fabio Borini close to sealing Serie A return
The Italian giants expect to conclude a deal to land the 24-year-old in the coming weeks after he was told he has no future at Anfield.
Lazio manager Stefano Pioli is hoping to lure the Italian to the Stadio Olimpico with the prospect of playing Champions League football next season, according to the La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Borini has fallen way down the pecking order at Anfield but spurned the chance to turn his loan stint at Sunderland two seasons ago into a permanent switch, despite Liverpool accepting an offer for his services.
Borini had a brief spell at Chelsea before becoming Brendan Rodgers' first signing for the Merseysiders in 2012, but he made only 18 appearances last term for the Kop club.
