Difference Between Van Gaal And Jose Morinho

Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera has pointed out the main difference between Jose Mourinho and Louis van Gaal.Mourinho replaced his former mentor in the summer after the Dutchman had spent two years with the Red Devils, winning an FA Cup.

In an interview with ​El Correo, Herrera hailed Mourinho for giving the team more freedom to express themselves on the pitch, adding that the Special One has given him the chance to get forward more often. “Mourinho encourages me to do it,” Herrera said. “I scored recently in the cup and I have hit the post [against Northampton] from long-range too.

“Mourinho gives you more freedom as a player; he wants the player’s instinct to come through. It’s true that you then have to have that defensive order but he tells us to let that if that instinct guides us on the pitch then we should try things.” The 27-year old has made eight appearances in all competitions so far this season, scoring once. He stood out in United’s games against Leicester and Stoke, prompting a call up from Julen Lopetegui to the national team.
